PHILOSOPHY OF BUSINESS

Here at MBD, we feel blessed by the opportunities we've received and the people that are part of our organization. Our philosophy is simple: we want to wisely manage those resources in ways that have a lasting impact on the world and the industry we operate in, and on the lives we touch.

We believe that to be effective we must clearly communicate our company’s mission and core values to our clients, vendors and employees. Every relationship must be aligned with achieving our mission's objective while adhering to our values. We believe that our team's motivation is strengthened with clear mission and defining values.

We take this seriously. Our mission and values are not just a pretty poster on the wall, but tools that we use to interview and select new employees, use for performance reviews and in evaluating manager's decisions and operating style. We use them to evaluate vendor relationships and business deals with clients.

MBD'S MISSION

The mission of Millworks By Design is to train and deploy a national force of finish

carpentry and millwork installation crews who consistently deliver world class

customer service, productivity and fine craftsmanship.

MBD'S CORE VALUES

1) THINK SAFE, WORK SAFE - Safe, smart work is usually productive, quality work. Look out for the safety of yourself and others. Don’t let a coworker go home injured or worse!

2) DELIVER QUALITY WORK - Always deliver quality workmanship no matter what type of work you do. Quality goes deep and is not just what is seen on the surface. The quality of a customer’s experience is just as important as the quality of the woodwork we are producing.

3) BE CANDID - Bring issues to light in a timely manner, regardless of who, what, where or when. Be truthful.

4) TEAM SPIRIT - As a subcontractor, MBD is a member of the larger project team. MBD as a whole is a team and there are smaller teams within MBD. Look out for your team, not just yourself. Look out for the biggest team, not just the small team.

5) PRIDE IN OUR WORK - Produce work that you are proud of, work that you can autograph.

6) STAY HUMBLE - Know your strengths and weaknesses. Be realistic and authentic, not cocky or arrogant. Let your work speak for itself.

7) ALWAYS IMPROVE - Always look for better ways of doing things. Teach others and be teachable.

8) LEARN FROM FAILURE - Be open about your mistakes so others can learn too.

9) DO THE RIGHT THING - Don’t cheat. Do what you know is right, no matter what.
